
Egypt finds evidence of secret grave in 3300 years old Pharaoh grave.Taken three years on the 570-foot (174 meter) dig
Egypt Antiquities Department has announced that the excavation of an unfinished tunnel, you might want to be a secret grave in a 3300 years old Pharaoh's grave.
The 570-meter-long tunnel (174 meters) off the main road routes grave of the New Kingdom pharaoh Seti I (1314-1304 BC) descending two flights of stairs before abrupt ending.
Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass, chief public prosecutor said it has taken three years, Seti I dig the 570-foot (174 meters) long tunnel in Pharaoh ' s ornate grave in southern Egypt Valley of the Kings. The pharaoah died before the project was finished.
First discovered in 1960, the tunnel is only now completely erased and archaeologists discovered ancient figures, pottery and statements of the architect for the workers to leave.
"Move the door jamb and continue the course," It was an inscription on a decorative false door in the hallway. It was written in hieratic, a simplified version of the cursive hieroglyphs.
Elsewhere in tunnel it was the first sketches of the planned decorations, said Hawass.
Pharaoh Seti I (1314-1304 BC) was one of the founders of the 19th Dynasty in the New Kingdom is known for his military exploits and looks at the top of the ancient Egyptian power. His grave is known for its colorful murals.
Seti's son Ramses II built magnificent temples and statues of himself all over Egypt.
Hawass speculated that the Tunnels and secret grave were not death terminated because of the Pharaohs, but have inspired a similar grave strucuture in Ramses II 's.
