Can I fix hot lamp on a piece of string?
I have a type Torchiere table lamp with a rotary switch down on his line, not from the outlet. When I turn it off lately, the switch is very hot. I've stopped using it and it unplugged. Is this fixable? It is a great Pottery Barn lamp, so I do not want to get rid of it!
Yes, you can buy and replace the rotary switch. The switch is bad and the contacts are heating up. Good Ideas can not be used to replace the switch. If you are not ready, bring it to a small appliance repair shop. Ask first for a price. Normally they are quite reasonable.
