Snowdonia For children: Ten Snowdonia attractions for children under 12 years

Towering mountains, mile after mile of sand and gravel coast and open countryside can, as far as the eye. This is probably what you see in your mind when you think of Snowdonia. Do not keep talking to a lot of small children, could you think … but you'd be wrong!

In fact, as well as Britain's number one activity center Snowdonia is a fantastic holiday destination, if If you are traveling with children. Throughout the region, that you will find enough to entertain in order to keep the younger members of your family, regardless of the weather – here are ten of our Favorites.

1. Gypsy Wood Park

Gypsy Wood Park, just outside Caernarfon, is a great place to visit if you are traveling with children. It is a wonderful petting zoo, where children can meet llamas, ducks, rabbits, goats, miniature donkeys and Shetland ponies – among others. It is a fantastic model railway with some of the great little trains of Wales. And there is also a beautiful half-mile wetland walk through swamps and woods – so bring your rubber boots and Do not forget to look out for fairies!

2. Shell Iceland

Shell Iceland is Llanbedr, south of Harlech. This small peninsula on the Cardigan Bay has three beautiful Beaches, one of which is from some of the highest sand Wales' dunes. 3. Yr Hwylfan

With its huge drops, ball pools, slides, bridges, pipes, maze, climbing walls, nets and ropes, is Yr Hwylfan the perfect place to let your kids run riot in a secure environment. There are also special areas for small children, so your youngest children do not feel excluded.

4. Greenwood Forest Park

Greenwood Forest Park is an amusement park with a difference: all the rides are powered by you! These include the famous Green Dragon, the world's first people powered roller coaster. There are many excellent rides for children to enjoy Greenwood, a cave and construction area much more family-friendly entertainment and crafts.

5. Coed Y Brenin Forest Park

Coed Y Brenin, near Dolgellau, is a perfect place for keeping children active. There are many marked hiking trails and a variety of cycle routes suitable for all abilities, bring your own bikes or hire one from distribution center. Children love the adventure playground staggered, and the guided hikes and craft activities in the forest Junior Rangers' club made.

6. Barmouth Beach and fair

Barmouth is one of those wonderful, typically British, seaside resorts, visitors of all ages. Beautiful sandy beaches by breathtaking mountain views, a good old-fashioned boardwalk, ice cream and lots of lovely gift shops are backed up some of the attractions in Barmouth – but children will especially love the little fair, the rides, which are ideal for smaller children.

7. The Play Centre

New to Bangor is the Play Centre, a fun experience for families. And dedicated to infant and junior areas zones for younger children, there is a mini-soccer pitch, where children of all ages, a kick-about can enjoy. While the children are enjoying themselves, the parents can relax in the comfort zone with free newspapers and magazines and free Wi-Fi.

8. Dwyfor Ranch

Dwyfor Ranch Rabbit Farm Animal Park is Llanystumdwy, near Criccieth. On the ranch, your little ones have a good time cuddle rabbits, guinea pigs and puppies, and to feed the hand goats, alpacas, donkeys and lambs. There is an on-site cafe, if you want a snack while to pack your visit, and there is also a beautiful picnic area where you better bring your own food.

9. King Arthur's Labyrinth

King Arthur's Labyrinth is an exciting underground adventure for all ages. Take a boat ride through the caves as you stories about the adventures to hear of the King Arthur and his knights. This is a delightful attraction for young and old, atmospheric, exciting and fun.

10. Piggery Pottery

Piggery Pottery, Llanberis, is an unusual attraction, but one that small children to keep them quiet for hours on end. You can use plain paper Piggy banks and buy masks for your kids to paint and decorate with all sorts of goodies glittering on-site, they'll be able to take home with them. You can also professionally decorated piggy banks now, night lights and other fine children's pottery at the Piggery Pottery shop.
